Our Vision
To become a trusted foundation for men rebuilding their lives after treatment by providing the stability, accountability, support, and opportunities they need to achieve lasting recovery, independence, and purpose.
At ANCHOR, we envision a future where every man leaving treatment has access to a safe and supportive environment where he can continue his recovery, rebuild relationships, develop life skills, pursue meaningful employment, and become a productive and independent member of his community.
The Reality
Over 20 million Americans are in recovery from a substance use problem. In the latest federal data, 22.3 million adults reported that they consider themselves in recovery or recovered.
And Georgia is not immune. In 2023–2024, an estimated more than 1.5 million Georgians age 12 and older experienced a substance use disorder in the past year.
Employment
Employment is one of the first major steps toward independence. ANCHOR encourages residents to obtain and maintain meaningful employment, giving them an opportunity to earn income, develop a consistent routine, rebuild confidence, and take responsibility for their financial future.
Stability
Once a resident has employment and begins managing his responsibilities, the focus shifts toward creating personal and financial stability. This includes maintaining sobriety, managing money, paying bills, following a routine, developing healthy relationships, and making responsible decisions.
Independent Housing
The ultimate goal is for residents to transition from ANCHOR into safe, stable, independent housing. By this stage, the resident should have developed the employment, financial, recovery, and life-management skills needed to maintain his own home and continue moving forward.
Our Mission
ANCHOR Sober Living Center provides safe, structured, and supportive housing for men transitioning from treatment into independent living.
Employment is not the only measure of recovery or success. Some residents may need time for education, vocational preparation, disability-related support, or other appropriate goals. The objective is to help each resident move toward greater self-sufficiency.
Stability is the preparation stage. It gives residents an opportunity to demonstrate that they can manage increasing levels of responsibility before transitioning to independent housing.
Independent housing is not simply the end of the program—it represents the resident's ability to sustain the progress and responsibilities developed along the pathway.

Does ANCHOR provide support during the transition from treatment?
Yes. ANCHOR provides a structured living environment with accountability, recovery support, house expectations, and a positive community to help residents apply the skills they developed during treatment to everyday life.
Does ANCHOR provide independent housing?
No. ANCHOR provides transitional sober living, not permanent independent housing. Our goal is to prepare residents to eventually secure and maintain their own safe, stable, and independent housing.
